The pantomime favourite will be performed at the Civic Arts Centre in Oswaldtwistle and The Muni in Colne and will bring a whole host of laughs, costumes and musical scores.

Based on the 1950s film, director George Critchley of PMA Productions Ltd, said the latest version has been tweaked to keep the tale fresh and exciting.

He said: “It’s such a fantastic story with so much modern references that have never become outdated.

“There’s references to bullying with the sisters, there’s references to children living with single parents and quite often only their step-parent.

“I wanted to keep these important features but I also wanted to make sure there was something new and engaging.

“One of the ugly sisters has been named ‘Conchita’ to reference to last year’s Eurovision winner, as the actor playing her, Keith De’Winter, has such a fantastic beard and we wanted to keep it in.”

Actress Naomi Gisbey, 22, said playing Cinderella in her first panto was a dream come true.

She said: “It’s one of only a few Disney films I didn’t have on video when I was growing up.

“I would go round to my cousin’s house who had it and we would re-enact the different scenes.”

The show will start in Oswaldtwistle on December 3 to Sunday December 13. It will then arrive in Colne on January 2 and finish on Sunday January 17.
