A BRIERFIELD martial arts club is set to play host to a regional ground-fighting tournament.
The Pendle Martial Arts Academy will hold its fifth Kano-Bushi Ryu North West Groundfighting Championships on Sunday, July 22.
The competition is open to juniors and seniors from clubs across the region and organisers hope it will be their biggest event yet.
This year will see a junior cadet competition for 12 to 15-year-olds, and submissions will run on an ‘open weight’ basis.
Entry into the championships is £8 for junior competitors and £10 for seniors.
