AN underage girl was groomed and then passed between friends at a drink and drugs den to be sexually abused and raped, a court heard.

Before one alleged rape, the girl, aged just 13 or 14, was dragged by her hair by Omar Mazafar then forced upstairs by Mohammed Imran Amjad to be raped, jurors were told.

And after Imran Amjad had sex with the youngster against her will, he warned her family would ‘suffer’ if she want to the police, Manchester Crown Court was told.

It is alleged Amjad and Mazafar, with a number of friends, used a house in Sackville Street, Brierfield, as a ‘den’ where they took girls and young women to drink, take drugs and have sex.

The underage girl was said to have been introduced to the scene after Imran Amjad befriended her when she was aged 12 or 13.

Alaric Bassano, prosecuting, said: “During these times the girl was being passed between the men to be used for their own sexual gratification.”

Mr Bassano said that earlier the girl’s mother became increasingly concerned about the amount of time her daughter was spending with Imran Amjad, known to her as ‘Immy’.

But when she visited him at his home in Halifax Road, Brierfield, he is alleged to have said: ‘Who are you?’.

And when she questioned him about his ‘inappropriate relationship’ with the girl, he is said to have arrogantly shrugged and walked away.

Mr Bassano said when she was initially interviewed by police in 2010, the girl told them about drinking and drug-taking at the Sackville Street property. But it was only in a series of video interviews between June and October, 2011, that she outlined the repeated sexual abuse she claims she endured there.

Imran Amjad and Mazafar were arrested and each maintained they had never abused the girl. Four other men from Brierfield were also arrested but denied the claims.

Imran Amjad, 26, Mohammed Zishan Amjad, 25, also of Halifax Road, and Haroon Mohammed, 22, of John Street, each deny charges of rape and sexual activity with a child.

Mazafar, 22, also of Halifax Road, and Shiraz Afzal, 25, of Mansfield Crescent, each deny aiding or abetting rape and aiding or abetting sexual activity with a child. And Mohammed Suleman Farooq, 23, of Berry Street, denies sexual assault and sexual activity with a child. Imran Amjad also denies three charges of child abduction.

The trial is expected to last for several weeks.
