THE Mayor of Pendle watched as the trophies were being made for the borough's first ever business awards.
Coun Allan Buck went to Merc Engineering in Barrowford to see the specially-designed aluminium and glass awards in production.
He was shown the process by the firm's Managing Director Les Nuttall.
A total of nine awards have been created - one for each of the nine categories.
Coun Buck said: "Because they were business awards, I obviously wanted to use a local company to make them and decided Merc Engineering was the best one for what we needed.
"It was fascinating to watch them being made and I am sure all the nine recipients will be just as thrilled to receive one at the awards ceremony."
The red carpet is ready to be rolled out for the Oscar-style ceremony to be held at the Fence Gate Inn on Wednesday.
A total of 250 guests are expected to attend the prestigious event, which starts with a champagne reception followed by a sit-down meal.
