A CHARITY Valentine's ball and auction will be held this Saturday to raise funds for a special needs nursery.

Friends of Christchurch CE Primary School, Colne, are holding the event to raise funds for the school, and Rainbows Special Needs Nursery, Barrowford.

Guests will be treated to photographs, a three-course meal, an auction, with MC comedian Mike King, and live music by local band Superfly' and a disco.

The event, at the Fence Gate Inn, Fence, has been primarily sponsored by Daisy Communications, one of East Lancashire's major employers.

It also has the support of Findel Education, the largest dedicated supplier of educational products in Europe.

Auction and raffle prizes have been donated by Hillendale Landrover, Avista Travel, Burnley Football Club, Bell Woven Labels, Giddy Kippers, and Sanderson Dance Studios, among others.

Karen Hartley, chairman of the Friends of Christchurch School, said: "This started out as a fundraiser for the school, but we felt it would be a good idea to support Rainbows as some of our school children have benefited from their facilities."
