Barrowford residents lose parking fight

CALLS for a residents-only parking scheme in Belmont Terrace, Barrowford, have been turned down.

Residents petitioned Pendle Council in 2010 but a traffic survey and questionnaire revealed there was no over-whelming evidence for a scheme to be introduced.

Sandra Farnell, of the council’s highways department, said the survey found that on all visits made, there was more than 56 per cent available parking space, or room for an additional five vehicles.”
