Clean-up order for Barrowford building

A CLEAN-up is set to be ordered for a former police station in Pendle which fell victim to an arson attack.

Last May firestarters damaged an outbuilding at the former county police offices in Gisburn Road, Barrowford.

Borough council planning officers have now voiced concerns about the state of the building and its surroundings.

And members of the Barrowford and Western Parishes committee will be asked next week to authorise town hall officials to write to the owners, requesting fire debris are removed from the rear yard.

An inspection is also set to be conducted by building control experts of a collapsed roof, thought to have been caused by the fire.

The main body of the old police station is still up for sale as flats.
