WORK to reduce the accident rate on a danger road in East Lancashire has been rubberstamped by county council highways leaders.
Proposals to include extra safety features along the A682 road from Barrowford to Blacko will cost £15,000.
The rural route has been the scene of a number of serious and fatal crashes in recent years, often involving motorcyclists.
Interactive warning signs will be placed at strategic locations and a ‘gateway’ feature, designed to slow down traffic will be unveiled at the southern end of Blacko village.
No objections were received from Pendle Council or Blacko and Barrowford Parish Councils to the package.
A Lancashire County Council highways official said: “The scheme is designed to address the poor record of injury collisions along this road.”
