A FAMILY escaped without injury after their car flipped on a road.

The incident happened in Barnoldswick Road, Barrowford at around 3.30pm and the silver Renault Megane was recovered by police at around 4.30pm.

The road near Red Lane had to be close for around an hour while the family was helped from the vehicle.

Officers said there was no issues with speeding or defects with the car and the accident was caused by clipping a stone.

A police spokesman said: “It’s a prime example of child seats and seat belts worn perfectly.

“A mum and two children got out without a scratch.

“There was a little upset dangling upside down but they were absolutely unharmed.”
