Pendle Witch walk to end with live music
3:49pm Tuesday 19th June 2012 in Barnoldswick
A HUGE charity event to coincide with the 400th anniversary of the Pendle Witch trials has teamed up with Pendle Leisure Trust to promote a live music special on Barley Green.
The Pendle Witch Walk is set to break a world record for the biggest ever gathering of ‘witches’ and was recently approved by Guinness World Records as an official world attempt. It will raise money for Pendleside Hospice.
And with hundreds of attendees expected in witch-themed fancy dress, organisers are confident that they’ll claim the record. The event itself, on August 18, is a five-mile circular sponsored walk from Barley and will take in the summit of Pendle Hill.
Walkers will be rewarded with top acts at the show including Vicky and The Big Combo (Soul/R&B), Lancashire Sinfonietta, Leyland Brass Band, Arion Male Voice Choir and Russell Shaun (swing/big band).
