YOUNGSTERS from a Barnoldswick school have triumphed in a regional business competition.

Six teams from West Craven High School joined more than a hundred others from 14 schools across the North West for the Mosaic Enterprise Challenge. Three of those teams finished in the top 20.

Earlier this year, the 28 Year 9 students were split into teams, completed a questionnaire and joined an online simulation game that replicated the real world. They were paired with business mentors and had to make decisions about sales, advertising and production.

Parambir Randhawa, part of the leading team, said: “It was great to work with the mentors and get an insight in to the decisions entrepreneurs have to make.”

Gary Curson, Business and ICT teacher at West Craven, said: “To have three West Craven teams finish in the top 20 is a fantastic achievement."
