Car crashes into wall of Nelson bank

A CAR crashed into the side of Barclays Bank in Nelson town centre on Monday morning.

Police and ambulance crews were called to Manchester Road at 10.30am after report the Perodua Kelisa, driven by an elderly woman, had hit a bollard and the side of the bank.

The incident caused damage to the car but the bank was unscathed. The driver was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital as a precaution.
