Nelson businessman is pride of the county

NELSON businessman Tim Webber has been crowned Lancastrian of the year at a glittering awards ceremony.

The chairman and managing director of Barnfield Construction Group was honoured at the 2010 Be Inspired Business awards at the Globe Theatre, Blackpool.

The honour was given for Mr Webber’s lifetime achievement in expanding his business empire. In Lancashire alone, Barnfield has developed more than 40million sq ft or industrial space and key projects have included the new Boundary Mill, Colne, Lomeshaye Industrial Park, where the company is based, and the new ACE Centre in Nelson.

Host for the evening Dennis Taylor, Lancashire Economic Partnership’s chief executive, paid tribute to Mr Webber, describing him as ‘a giant on the Lancashire business map’. He also praised him for his determination in battling the recession and trying to create wealth for his beloved Pendle area.

Mr Webber paid special tributes to his family, friends, workforce and clients for all their support over the years.

Anyone can build a big business if they don't have any competition and are the councils main contractor. Just have a look round Pendle and see how many other contactors there are. They are amost as rare as hens teeth.

So Izanears, i suppose you're a business person yourself then if it's that easy? People who spend their lives being jealous of those more successful really get on my goat. And i have a goat. & hens. With no teeth.

So Izanears, what are your achievements?

This award is in recognition of 34 years in business, and a lot of hard work.

Why does everyone feel the need to knock Barnfield?
We are extremely proud of our achievements, in improving the area in which we live and work.

Good to see a resident of Nelson receiving praise and this is also some positive news for the town compared to rubbish Burnley. As for Izanears she's easily one of the worst posters on this forum.
.
Her posts are always filled with hate/venom/envy/raci
sm etc. The list is endless and sadly just a reflection of what a rubbish society we are becoming. I really wish some people would change!

HUMBLED: Tim Webber with his award. The awards grand finale.
