International Women’s Day celebrated in Colne

IT WAS ladies’ night at Colne Municipal Hall as students took to the catwalk to mark International Women’s Day.

The event, which is celebrated all over the world, raises awareness of the achievments of women and the continuing campaign for equality.

Among the highlights of the evening's events was a fashion show with students modelling wedding dresses.

Guests were also treated to aerobics sessions, henna and Indian head massage.

Pendle Young People's Services, which organised the celebration, were on hand with advice about sexual health.

Hey am sorry but i dont see my name being mentioned as organising the fashion show on my own in a couple of days. The YPS have been very unprofessional and I have had no support from all the adults.. wen speaking to the photographer I asked whether she could wait 5 mins for evryone to get changed as she had to go for half 7 n it was only 10 past 7.. by the 5 mins i was out she had taken the snap and had already gone.. I dont see why models who came last minute should get publicised rather than those who have been there from the beginning..!
And from readin the article you have made many mistkaes.. the article that was in the newspaper had my picture in also by dancing but i dont see that here.. my name was also spelt incorrectly..
Students didnt only model bridalwear they also modelled casualwear and partywear which was from bth eastern and western fashions which I arranged for hence the name East Meets West fashion Show..
and there were no aeorbic sessions or head massages...
