STUDENTS at Nelson and Colne College received awards last night for their outstanding achievements.

The ceremony saw awards given out for a wide variety of subjects including business, art and design, hair and beauty, IT and computing, science, engine-ering and humanities.

Principal Lyn Surgeon said everyone at the college was extremely proud of what the students had achieved.

She said: “Success is only gained through hard work and dedication and both staff and students have left me feeling humble by the level of commitment they have shown.

“The evening is a hugely important date in our college calendar, as it allows us to celebrate the achievements, both academic and vocational, of our students and the chance to reminisce on the steps they took to get where they are today.”
