TWO people have been left 'seriously injured' following a crash on the A59.

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after the 'serious collision' took place on the main road between Pendle and Skipton.

Officers said a red Yamaha motorcycle was involved in a crash with a red Vauxhall Astra and a black Dacia Duster on the outskirts of Skipton, near Broughton Hall, at around 8.30am yesterday.

The man from Accrington, who was riding the motorcycle was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with serious leg injuries. He remains there this morning in a serious condition.

The woman from Barnoldswick, who was driving the Dacia Duster, was taken to Airdale General Hospital and then to the Bradford Royal Infirmary with pain to her right arm and eye.

The driver and passenger of the Vauxhall Astra, who were from Skipton, were not reported to hospital.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw any of the vehicles prior to the collision, anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision or anyone who witnessed the collision.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage that could help with the investigation is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for the road policing group.
