A DEPUTY party leader has slammed a council for putting future generations at risk with 'huge' debt.
Pendle Cllr Paul White, who is the deputy leader of the Conservative Party, has criticised the current administration on Pendle Council, which is a Labour and Liberal Democrat coalition, for failing to get a grip of the spiralling council debt.
Cllr White said: "We need to move Pendle forwards, and this coalition aren’t doing that.
"They’re frittering money. They are the confetti coalition. We have to live within our means.
"The Labour and Lib Dem coalition running Pendle plead poverty, but then spend, spend, spend.
"Cllr Iqbal, the leader of the Labour Group, has clearly been having economics lessons from his leader Jeremy Corbyn.”
