PEOPLE have been urged to hand in knives as part of a week of action to reduce knife crime.
Operation Sceptre, which started on Monday and will run until Sunday, is a national campaign targeting knife crime and those who carry knives.
Lancashire Police said they are keen to stress that any incident involving a knife could have tragic consequences and destroy lives and have urged people to surrender any knives to their local police station.
A police spokesman said: " If you've got a knife or other bladed weapon you would like to ditch anonymously you can use the special bins this week outside Blackburn Greenbank, Burnley and Nelson police stations."
