MORE than 50 people made the 250-mile round trip to be shown around Parliament by Pendle’s MP Andrew Stephenson.

The group from Barrowford, Colne, Nelson and Foulridge toured the 900-year-old Westminster Hall, the oldest building on the estate, before visiting the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

During the tours, Mr Stephenson talked about the buildings as well as his role in representing Pendle.

Mr Stephenson said: “Over the years I have been del-ighted to welcome numerous Pendle residents to West-minster to see the historic building in which I work.

“With the ongoing debate about restoration of the building and the possibility of restricted access in future, now is a great time to visit.

“I look forward to showing many more residents around in the weeks and months ahead.”
