A SPOOKTACULAR day has been organised in Colne town centre this Hallowe'en.

Three competitions will be held on Saturday, October 28 and will be judged by local artist, Keith Melling.

A fancy dress competition will be held at the Colne outdoor market at 2pm.

Pumpkins will be displayed at the entrance to Colne Library, on Market Street, as part of the best children's pumpkins competition from 1pm, with prizes awarded at 3.30pm.

Pumpkins will need to be dropped off outside the library between 9am and 10am.

A final competition will be held for the town's best business window display, which is also free to enter.

Cllr Ash Sutcliffe, chairman of Colne Town Council’s events committee, said: "The brilliant, spinetingling Hallowe'en event is going from strength to strength.

"The events run by Colne Town Council not only benefit the local businesses and the community, but also help to promote the town and bring more people to see our unique town.

"Hallowe’en in Colne is a brilliant day out for all the family."

It's free to take part in the three competitions.
