FIREFIGHTERS have dealt with two car fires in East Lancashire.
Firefighters said the first incident happened at a carpark in Nuttall Street, Blackburn, while the second took place in Bankfield Street, Colne.
Both vehicles were severely damaged during the fires.
The cause of both fires is under investigation but arson has not been ruled out in either case.
Nobody was injured in either incident.
The fire in Blackburn happened at around 8.35pm last night.
A fire service spokesman said: “One fire engine from Blackburn Fire Station attended a car fire on a public carpark on Nuttall Street in Blackburn. The vehicle was well alight upon arrival and firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hosereel to extinguish the fire.”
Referring to the Colne fire, which happened at around 12.30am today, the spokesman said: “One fire engine from Colne Fire Station attended a car fire on Bankfield Street in Colne.
“The vehicle was well alight on arrival and firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hosereel to bring it under control.”
Anyone with information about the cause of either incident can call police on 101.
