AN exciting afternoon of cake decorating and face painting is set to take place on Saturday.

The Whitefield Community Association is holding its Tea in the Park event in Victoria Park, Nelson.

The day will include bouncy castles, face painting, henna hand painting, colouring and cake decorating competitions, as well as archery workshops.

People will be able to get up close with birds of prey and watch a dogs agility demonstration by Pendle Dogs in Need.

An event spokesman said: "There's also the opportunity to enjoy the mesmerising voices of Lomeshaye Junior School choir with young children’s sensational performance.

"You will not leave without appreciating the uplifting performance by Nelson’s own Brass Band; town’s heritage of music.

"The finale of the event is going to be full of exciting prizes in a raffle. You can win a mountain bike with many others.

"This is an open event and there is no need to book."

Cllr David Whalley, the mayor of Pendle will open the day at noon, it will conclude at 3pm.
