A HABITUAL shoplifter has been banned from a list of shops that reads like a who's who of the High Street.
Blackburn magistrates imposed the ban as part of bail conditions against John Martin Leonard who is awaiting sentence on a total of eight offences of shoplifting, one of assault on a store detective and one of burglary of a shop.
A condition of bail prohibits him from entering the Co-op late store, Tesco, Savoys, Boots, Matalan, Pound Stretcher, Nisa Store, Sainsbury, B&M, Farm Foods and TK Maxx all in his home town of Colne.
Leonard, of William Street, Colne, pleaded guilty to three charges of shoplifting. He was committed on bail to Burnley Crown Court to be sentenced at the same time as he is sentenced for five other shoplifting offences, one of assault and one of burglary.
