Investigation into suspected arson at derelict building
AN investigation is underway into a suspected arson attack on a derelict building in Nelson.
The incident happened in Ellen Street behind the Lord Nelson pub at around 6.40pm.
Two crews attended the scene to put out the blaze and the incident is now under investigation.
A fire service spokesman said: "It looks like someone has got in and set fire to some rubbish.
"The fire was just in one room of the empty building.
"We're currently investigating the cause as a potential arson attack."
He also said nobody was injured in the fire.
