AS part of Mental Health Awareness Week, Pendle Leisure Trust’s Good Life Project is throwing open its garden gates to visitors.

People are invited to Hodge House Allotments in Nelson, between 11am and 2pm on Tuesday, May 9.

This will be an ideal opportunity for people to have a tour of the Reedyford Road site and see what takes place there.

Project development worker,John O’Neill said: “This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week theme is Surviving or Thriving and we will be on hand to show visitors how to look after our mental health and build resilience to cope with the demands of life.

“We will have a distinctly tropical theme, with music and a barbecue to mark the grand unveiling of our new outdoor kitchen and workshop.”

The project is a therapeutic, horticultural programme run by the Pendle Leisure Trust and funded by the Big Lottery – Reaching Communities Programme.
