AN online petition has been created to gather support to turn a former outdoor pursuit course into a skatepark.
A plan was announced last week to transform the Vivary site in Colne into a 'wheel park'.
The scheme, put together by volunteers, would be open for skateboarders, BMX riders, scooters and roller-skaters to use.
Volunteer Amanda Cunningham, 48, from Trawden, set up the petition in a bid to gather support so she could convince Pendle Council, which owns the site, to let them use their land.
Mrs Cunningham said: "We believe this is the prime site for such a facility in our town, being accessible, close to other leisure facilities and away from residential housing.
"Our community-led Colne Wheelpark Initiative Group is being mentored by the successful Henley Wheelpark.
"We believe we can fund this facility from a range of sources, though we acknowledge this might take some time."
