THE circus has arrived in town with death-defying motorcyclists, roller-skating acrobats and gutsy tightrope walkers all ready for action.

Just off junction 13 of the M65, a big red tent was set up yesterday in Nelson for Circus Funtasia.

The show has returned to the town after a performance last year.

Nia Nikolova-Jones is one of the stars of the show and is thought to be the youngest performing solo-juggler in the UK at just 13.

Nia, who is based in Stafford, said: “I love the buzz of being part of the circus. There’s just nothing better than hearing the applause of the crowd and seeing them smile. I’m hoping for huge crowds in Nelson this year."

As well as Nia performing the show will include an appearance from four motorcyclists inside the Globe of Death and tricks on roller skates from Duo Peris. Elodie Rech will also entertain with aerial routines. Performances start at 5pm and 7.30pm until Friday; 2pmand 5pm Saturday and noon and 3pm Sunday.
