AN appeal has been issued after a number of tyre slashing incidents were reported in a West Craven town.

Police are investigating several allegations of criminal damage to vehicles parked in and around Barnoldswick over the past 10 days.

PC Duncan Park said: "We are asking people to be aware and vigilant, especially in the early hours, and to contact police immediately if you suspect an offence is being committed.

"We are also asking parents to check their children's pockets for knives or pointed articles, which maybe used to cause damage."

If anyone has any information to share they are asked to e-mail PC Park, a Barnoldswick neighbourhood officer, at duncan.park@lancashire.pnn.police.uk.
