A MAN threatened to jump from the top of a notorious multi-storey car park in Nelson.
The man climbed to the top of Pendle Rise car park on Broadway at around 5pm today, police said.
Officers were called and spent around half an hour negotiating to bring him down safely from the building which is above the old bus station and next door to the town's police station.
There have been a number of fatal incidents associated with the building in the past and residents, as well as community leaders, have called for it to be demolished.
Police negotiators have also had to deal with a number of calls to 'talk down' people from the car park.
Special fencing was installed around the edges of the car park on Netherfield Road in 2013 after many years of discussions.
