A WELL-known sports player and great grandfather in Pendle has died.
Derek Green, who was originally from Colne, spent all of his adult life in Vaughn Street, Nelson.

The former Colne Grammar school pupil, who played for Colne Legion and Nelson Grammar School Old Boys, died of natural causes last week at the age of 85.
The father-of-three, grandfather-of-four and great grandfather-of-two, was also a keen swimmer, walker and dancer.
He worked originally in sales for the textile industry and for many years in the spring manufacturing industry travelling throughout the area.
A spokesman for the family said: “Derek was a very strong family man, a real leader and head of the family, who spent much of his time with his beloved children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who will all feel the loss most strongly.”
His funeral takes place on October 26 at Ernest Street Chapel in Church followed by a service at Burnley Crematorium at 3.40pm.
