POLICE are offering advice on how to keep cars safe after two Audis were targeted by thieves in Pendle.

The first car was targeted at house in Fence at around 2.45am on Wednesday.

Thieves got into the house by forcing the rear door and stole the keys which had been left out on view. The alarm was activated and the offender fled without the car.

A short time later a similar burglary occurred at premises off Keighley Rd, Colne between Bent Lane and Sheridan Road.

The thief again forced the house door, found the car keys but this time made off with the vehicle.

Police are advising people to put keys out of sight and not to leave handbags, mobile phones and cash on show.

They also advise closing curtains, setting alarm systems and ensuring security lights work.
