A DRINK driver almost four times the limit was banned for three years at Pennine Magistrates’ Court.
The court had been told how Anthony Kerwin, 38, could have been facing up to 12 weeks in custody for the offence, committed on Chapelhouse Road, Nelson, on November 7. He had blown 136 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
Kerwin, of Selby Street, Nelson, admitted driving with excess alcohol. He was given 12 months’ supervision, with the drink impaired drivers’ programme and fined £50, with £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
