WITCHES and pagans will gather in the shadow of Pendle Hill for the town’s annual folklore festival.
For the past eight years, the Pendle Witch Camp has taken place close to the time of the summer solstice, in the village of Trawden. The event will feature talks, music, complementary and holistic therapies, drumming, theatre, storytelling, stalls, cafes and children’s activities.
Event favourites, Runic John and Tania Ahsan, will be returning to conduct hand-fasting rituals, and the summer solstice ceremony.
Coun John Paul McBeth said there had been an increasing number of residents complaining about the disturbance created by people at the festival in recent years.
He said: “We at the council want people to enjoy themselves and let their hair loose.
“But people must be considerate and abide by the rules.”
The Pendle Witch Camp will be held between June 21 and 23 on land close to the Trawden Arms.
