WASIM Ahmed, 20, of Roberts Street, Nelson, was given a 161-day prison sentence, suspended for two years, with 12 months supervision and £200 costs, by magistrates, after he admitted putting Rizwana Aitcha in fear of violence.
He had sent her messages and made telephone calls between November 17 and 20. He was also given a two-year restraining order.
