ARMED response police were called to land next to a disused railway line in Colne after reports of a shotgun being fired.
Residents near Alkincoates Road reported hearing the sound of guns being fired at 4.30pm on Sunday, police said.
Police questioned two men at the scene, but no further action was taken.
A police spokesman said: “Police spoke to two men who were seen carrying the guns. However, after inquiries were carried out, it was found the shooting was lawful on the land.”
