PENDLE Council is supporting the Love Food Hate Waste campaign and is urging residents to make the most of leftovers from the festive season.
The campaign asks people to make the most of the food in the house and avoid throwing it out where possible.
Coun John David, who represents waste and recycling, said: “The Love Food Hate Waste campaign also highlights how much money we can save by getting better at managing our food shopping and what’s in our fridges and kitchen cupboards.
“Considering that we spend, on average, £169 on our big Christmas food and drink shop, the festive season is the perfect time to follow the Love Food Hate Waste tips to make the most of our food.”
The Love Food Hate Waste website features advice on turning leftovers into meals.
