Pendle MP welcomes for new measures to combat crime

PENDLE MP Andrew Stephenson has welcomed new crime and justice measures announced by the Government.

The measures include tougher community sentences, a new offence for the ‘middle men’ who supply firearms, and new powers to restrict the sale of alcohol in the early hours.

Mr Stephenson said: “Crime and anti-social behaviour causes misery in local communities. We need a criminal justice system which is tough, but intelligent. For too long community sentences have been seen as a soft option and victims have been let down.

"Victims should come first and offenders face meaningful a punishment. The changes which the government have set out will see punishment return to community sentences, a new offence for people who supply guns, new powers to tackle alcohol-fuelled anti-social behaviour and a new focus on tackling re-offending.”

It seems we are allowed to comment on things that are not likely to cause a big discussion in the community. The Telegraph is censoring far too many stories. you can't comment on lenient sentences or anything Islamic. I am afraid this will damage the paper. Maybe a new approach to comments and discussions can be used positively. The telegraph should take the lead in community affairs and generate proper debate,

You are indeed correct that it is an offence to suppy a illegal firearm.Infact, a man went on trial for supplying a firearm to Mark Duggan, the man who was shot dead by armed police which sparked the initial rioting last year

Lets not forget that Sir Jimmy Saville was investigated when he was alive but the Police found insufficient evidence. But now he's dead all the claimants come running forward shortly before the criminal compensation is reduced.

Most of our more reliable information seems to be via the internet these days as little can be believed in the controlled, political correct, propaganda-pushing papers like this or TV news come to that. Although there is seemingly no proof as yet of involvement of any royalty, there is no smoke without fire. Every other area touched by Savile's evil presence (BBC, childrens homes, hospitals, even close family) has involved child abuse so why should his association with leading figures be any different.
