A NEW clubhouse on playing fields in Barrowford will be officially opened tomorrow.

Developed as part of a £1.85m programme to create three new sports pavilions across Pendle, the new clubhouse on Bullholme playing fields has been designed to suit the needs of the village’s football teams.

The former clubhouse was deemed to be in a poor state of repair before Barnfield Construction started work to demolish and rebuild it around a year ago.

The car park will also be resurfaced by the end of the year.

The new building at Bullholme houses six self-contained changing rooms, each with showers, wash basins and toilet, changing rooms for match officials, a disabled changing room and toilet, and a clubroom for Barrowford Celtic FC.

Bob Flounders, from Barrowford Celtic, said: “The clubhouse is going to be a tremendous asset to the local community and to our club in particular.”
