Tickets on sale for Pendle mayor's Christmas do for older people

TICKETS have gone on sale for the annual mayor of Pendle’s Christmas do for older people.

The mayor’s Bit of a Do event takes place in the first week of December and features entertainment from the Trawden Ladies Choir, singers Andrea Louise and Lee Nelson, and comedy vocalist James Brandon. Coun Asjad Mahmood, the mayor of Pendle, said: “Since I’ve been Mayor, I’ve really enjoyed getting out and about and meeting local people in lots of different situations.

“I’m looking forward to meeting people from our older generation in the run-up to Christmas.”

This year’s event will take place at the Colne Muni over lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, December 4, 5 and 6.

Anyone who goes along will enjoy a pre-lunch drink followed by a traditional roast turkey dinner.

Tickets cost £8.50 and are available by calling 01282 661572 between 9am and 12pm Monday to Friday.
