Pendle's nightmare neighbours can be reported 24-hours a day

NIGHTMARE neighbours in Pendle can now be reported 24 hours a day.

Pendle Council runs a hotline, and online contact, to help improve the lives of local residents.

Anyone who feels they are persistent victims of noise nuisance, vandalism, graffiti, intimidation, street drinking, or flytipping, can report the problem from the safety of their own home.

Coun David Whipp, chairman of the Community Safety Partnership, said: “We know that if anti-social behaviour happens to you, it can have a big impact on your quality of life. Pendle is a safe place to live and work, but if you experience crime, or anti-social behaviour, report it to us!”

A great idea in principle but let's see how quick they are to get to grips with the complaints or will all the bureaucratic red tape come into play and result in noise nuisance neighbours taking months to be dealt with?

Apart from when machete wielding gangs of Asian drug dealers are fighting turf wars in the middle of Brierfield that is.

So their cunning plan is an email address and answer phone. This hardly counts as 24 hour reporting if no one checks it until they come to work at 9am. A real service would be how long it takes for them to call back or do something about it.
