COUNTY councillor Matthew Tomlinson, cabinet member for children, young people and schools, has welcomed the publication of this year’s Key Stage Two SATs results.
The tables showed three East Lancashire primary schools were in the top 100 in the country.
Barrow Primary School came sixth, Ribchester St Wilfrid’s CofE VA Primary School, 43rd, and Gisburn Primary School, 69th.l He said: “This year’s SATs results show that once again, schools in the county are producing good results.
“I’m also delighted by the news that for the first time in Lancashire, over 90 per cent of pupils made at least the expected progress in all three subjects. This shows what excellent work our schools are doing throughout the county. “
