THREE out of four patients with cancer who are clinically depressed do not receive the support they require from psychological services, according to new reseach.
The study on behalf of medical journal The Lancet claims there is a ‘large unmet need’ for therapeutic assistance, with medics concentrating mainly on the physical symptoms of various conditions. The study has recommended that nurse-led treatment could be of major benefit to thousands.
