A GRAND opening has been planned for a new fish pass on the River Brun – and a freshly-commissioned painting at Towneley Hall.
Supporters of the Ribble Rivers Trust have invited guests, including Mayor of Burnley Coun Andy Tatchell, to the unveiling of the pass behind the Mohiuddin International Girls College in Thompson Park on Monday, September 8.
Guests will then take a look at the newly-installed viewing windows for the waterway on Church Street, which have been incorporated into renovated railings there.
The party will then travel to Towneley Hall’s art gallery for the first glimpse of Calder Life, a new work which will be the centrepiece of the Wild About Burnley room there, which Coun Tatchell will officially unveil around 3pm.
