AWARD-winning bakers, Cissy Green’s, of Haslingden, and Just Jenny’s farmhouse ice cream, based in Yorkshire, are two of the 13 stalls now booked for a harvest celebration in Rawtenstall.
Incredible Edible Rossendale, a community food-growing group, is hosting its event on Sunday, September 28. In January, the bakers in Deardengate beat Elizabeth May of Chorley and Lilibets of Paris, from Southport, in the Lancashire and Merseyside round of ITV’s Britain’s Best Bakery.
Cake connoisseur and presenter Mich Turner called the pair’s competition entries ‘innovative and creative’ and described them as ‘all round good bakers’.
The harvest celebration will be held from 11am to 4pm, in Whitaker Park, in Old Haslingden Road.
