MORE than 20 bags of rubbish were removed from Hoddlesden, Waterside and Eccleshill after a Your Call community clean-up in the area.
The event was organised by Waterside resident Matt Jackson and attended by parliamentary hopeful Will Straw and East Rural councillor Julie Slater.
Mr Jackson said: “This was a fantastic, community-driven event which cleaned up several areas within the local community.
“Volunteers got into the Your Call spirit, with more than 20 bags of rubbish collected, and the rain failed to dampen the spirits of those taking part.”
