APPRENTICES from Burnley, Billington and Barnoldswick studying with Blackburn-based Training 2000 have secured places in the finals of WorldSkills UK.
Declan Tierney-Doogan, 20, from Billington, who works at Graham Engineering in Nelson has made it through to the final, along with Paradigm Precision employee, Liam Woinson, 19, from Burnley.
The pair will also be joined by Benn Goodwill, 20, from Barnoldswick, a Fort Vale Engineering Ltd employee.
Each will be tested on their engineering skills using computer controlled machinery competing in either the CNC Milling or CNC Turning category Having made it through the heats, the apprentices will travel to Birmingham NEC to compete in the live finals in front of thousands of visitors.
Steve Gray, head of Training 2000, said: “It is an excellent achievement to be recognised on a national level and for our apprentices to be ranked in the top of their field is a testament to their success and the commitment from their employers.”
