WORK to refurbish an old phone box in Clitheroe and instal a defibrillator is set to be complete by the end of the month.
The £4,000 project began last year after the town council purchased the phone box in Market Place from BT.
The box was been repainted and renovated ahead of the defibrillator being installed.
The equipment will be made available for the community to use in cases of emergency.
Council leader Mary Robinson said: “It’s good that the town council purchased the phone box and paid for the defibrillator.
“It will benefit the community alongside other defibrillators in the town.”
An official unveiling is expected to be held and the council is set to discuss training sessions for residents with the local First responders.
