Blackburn with Darwen Council is still trying to find the relatives of three soldiers who were awarded the Victoria Cross, including Lt Cdr Dean, so they can attend the laying of special paving stones.

William Henry Grimbaldeston and John Schofield and former QEGS student Lt Cdr Percy Thompson Dean, and will be commemorated during events for the centenary of the 1914 -1918 conflict.

The government is paying for the specially-made stones to be placed in 400 towns across the UK commemorating the First World War soldiers awarded the VC for exceptional valour in battle.
