AS one of the ratepayers who pays council salaries, I must object to Blackburn with Darwen Coun Colin Rigby saying public discussion of salaries is not good.
I would suggest people are very interested in salaries as much as councillor expenses.
I would also be interested in the amount of salary reduction chief executive Graham Burgess, his deputy executives and various directors are taking.

I would suggest 10 per cent would be a good minimum starting point because these people are council staff.
I would also hope we never hear any more stupid suggestions of bonuses to executives unless all council staff receive a bonus.
Finally, the opposition Labour group started the job evaluation because of a directive from this bankrupt Labour Government who have wasted billions on a useless war so it's a bit late to pretend they are bothered about the outcome of job evaluation.
The bottom line is this: if you have to pay the folks at the very top of an organisation a bonus to give of their best and do the job properly (which incidently they volunteered for by way of making application), then you've probably appointed the wrong people.
