THERE has been a lot of publicity about schoolteachers striking, but does anyone realise that higher education and college lecturers have also been on strike?
They are striking for equality of pay with schoolteachers.
Lecturers work longer hours and have to keep up with current events and trends in business etc for less pay.

Although teachers think they are hard done by, they forget to mention that a lot of schoolteachers retire early.
They choose early retirement because they can, due to the good pension and also due to the fact that they can earn good money supply teaching.
And then there are the holidays of course. Who else do you know with six weeks in the summer and around the same length of time off during the rest of the year?
